Guitar Program

This is the whole path on one instrument. You start by fretting a single chord cleanly and finish playing with other people without needing the music in front of you.

The route runs through open chords, timing, barre shapes, fingerpicking and lead playing, always inside real songs rather than exercises.

Nothing is rushed. Each tier stays open once you reach it, so you can go back to an earlier lesson whenever something needs shoring up.

How the learning works

The guitar is taught by ear first and notation later. You learn to hear a chord change before you learn to name it, because that is the skill that lets you play with other people.

You work at your own pace. Every lesson stays available, so a busy week costs you nothing and a quiet week can carry you two tiers forward.

Nobody is left behind if they miss a week. There is no live schedule and no class to catch up with.

Add one to one lessons

Program members can also book one to one lessons for attention on their own playing, from £18 for thirty minutes online. Coaching students get access to the matching program included, so the two fit together either way round.

What students on this program say

I had three failed attempts at learning guitar behind me. This is the first time the chord changes came good, mostly because nothing moved on until they had.

Rachel D.

I finished Beginners 2 and played through a whole song with my brother on bass. That was the point I stopped calling myself a beginner.

Femi A.

Questions

What happens if I cancel my membership?
Your access runs to the end of the month you have paid for, and then stops. Nothing is deleted, so if you come back later you pick up at the tier you had reached.
Yes. Every tier is open from the day you join, so you can look ahead or drop back to an earlier lesson whenever you want. Most students follow the order, but nothing is locked.
Twenty minutes on four or five days does more than two long sessions at the weekend. If a week gets away from you, nothing is lost.
It is built for one. Beginners 1 assumes you have never played a note, and takes the first steps slowly enough that your hands can keep up.
Yes, you need something to practise on between lessons. It does not need to be expensive, and we are happy to suggest what to look for before you buy.
Beginners 1 costs nothing and always will. Work through it first, then decide whether the rest of the ladder is for you.
